Community Noise Measuring, evaluating, and recommending criteria for industrial noise transmitted to the surrounding community. Giving presentations at public hearings when necessary to explain industrial noise problems, noise mitigation goals, and noise control methods.
New Equipment Evaluating the community and in-plant noise impact of proposed new equipment, such as diesel generator sets, blowers, cooling towers, and exhaust stacks. Aiding selection of low noise generating equipment, layout of plants, and design of facilities for minimum noise.
Noise Control Recommending noise control treatments for pumps, chillers, cooling towers, diesel generators, burners, valves, etc., for reducing community noise levels and employee noise exposure. Identifying and ranking significant noise radiating equipment and propagation paths. Developing equipment noise specifications.
Employee Noise Exposure Providing noise surveys to identify areas where excessive employee noise exposure may exist. Certifying and assessing hearing damage risk. Aiding plant engineers in developing acceptable procedures for reducing employee noise exposure compatible with OSHA and CAL/OSHA requirements.
Community Noise Level Contours Using computer modeling techniques for developing community noise level contours and community noise impact assessments. Using these techniques, changes in noise contours can be predicted for new equipment or implementation of noise control measures.
